Santa Fe School of Cooking: Unforgettable Culinary Demonstrations
Located just down the street from the heart of Santa Fe, the historic downtown Plaza, The Santa Fe School of Cooking is an internationally acclaimed culinary school specializing in foods of the American Southwest. It offers a variety of educational opportunities nearly every day, year-round, and is famous for its demonstration classes, walking tours of Santa Fe, hands-on classes and specialty classes.
All cooking classes include recipes and a full meal EXCEPT the Chile Amor and Salsas classes, which include small tastings only.

As the warmth of spring and summer approach, more of the school’s extremely popular Restaurant Walking Tours will be offered. The School’s beautiful new facility has an outstanding hands-on kitchen with a greatly enlarged demonstration kitchen, allowing the addition of new classes and accommodating more many more guests. Visitors will find these classes to be enriching, entertaining, and taught by some of the best chefs in Santa Fe.
In the Demonstration class we attended, titled “Contemporary Southwest III, Chef Michelle Roetzer, accompanied by seasoned veteran Noe Cano, prepared Pecos Black and Red Pork Tenderloin, Poblano Madeira Chile Sauce, Parmesan-Cilantro Mashed Potatoes, Red Cabbage Apple Relish, Fresh Seasonal Vegetables, and Pumpkin Cheesecake. The three-hour class was lively, informative, and entertaining, culminating in the most enjoyable part of all—dining on each of the items prepared!
