Casa de Estrellas, Santa Fe, New Mexico

santa fe casa de estrellasIf New Mexico enchants through its rich mix of Native American, Hispanic and Wild West cultures, then Santa Fe’s Casa de Estrellas positively captivates with its scintillating mélange of artistically-designed (circa 1930s) luxury villas just a stone’s throw from the downtown plaza.   From your first step on the hand-hewn oak floors to a relaxing massage in the Estrellas Spa, you’ll discover refreshment and restoration for both body and soul. Developer Jay Payne has tastefully crafted quality, originality and attention to detail throughout each and every aspect of this premier Inn.   A former Hollywood designer who has worked with well-known actors, Payne’s casas really are star performers.

Our welcome began with a brief tour of the spa followed by an introduction to the amenities within our guest room.  Our second-floor villa came with a balcony, king bed, extra sleeping loft, living and dining rooms, and a gourmet kitchen.  Across from the welcome basket of goodies we found a Miele cappuccino machine, stocked with pre-measured espresso coffee pods.  Our villa included radiant heat in the bathroom and kitchen floors, a towel warmer in the bathroom, cozy fireplace and five-speaker surround sound for the flat-screen TV.  Paintings from a local artist graced our living room and bedroom while a bouquet of fresh flowers brought further local color into our already cheery abode.  Hand-carved wood doors complemented the rugged, chiseled beams that supported the plank ceiling.  Gold, tan, and umber-toned fresco-finished, hand-troweled plaster walls added further warmth.  A wild blend of shapes, sizes and colors of intricately-fitted tiles covered the floors, walls and counters of both kitchen and bathroom.  I found myself caught up for several minutes in rapt attention indulging in the artistry and craftsmanship integrated throughout the mosaic creations within this exquisite bungalow.  Later, in the evening hours, once again gazing at the flowing designs of the colorful tiles in the bathroom throughout the shower stall, up the walls, across the floor, and up through the skylight, I wondered whether I were a guest in some fairyland cottage and if perhaps the little gnome who lived here might be startled by my intrusion.

Casa de Estrellas is conveniently located near the historic Santa Fe Plaza where a bevy of dining delights awaits. While art galleries, shopping and walking paths beckon, the guest at Casa de Estrellas will find it difficult to stray far from her abode.  Massage therapists are at hand to offer the highest level of massage service in Santa Fe.  Schedule a private fitness trainer, a personal life coach or arrange a private yoga class whether in your villa, in the spa or outside in the garden.  Private chefs are available to help you design an unforgettable dining experience.  Looking for an exotic wedding venue?  The landscaped garden has served as a prime venue for intimate wedding parties

A Fractional Ownership Program is available offering the member complete enjoyment of a prime real estate asset for fraction of its true cost while significantly reducing the financial burden of a second home through shared ownership.  Owners’ Club Members may obtain a one-eighth shared ownership in a 1-bedroom private luxury villa starting at just $129,000.  Considering the high-level of workmanship and imaginative design for each villa, there is considerable value built in to this investment.  Each of the buildings has been wrapped with mesh and a rough base of concrete was troweled over the entire surface to ensure a crack-free stucco finish, an expensive process.  The outside of each casa is finished with a long lasting flexible plaster that will remain beautiful for years to come. Spanish terra cotta tile roofs last indefinitely.  All the ceramic tile work represents years of training from an old master who passed on his knowledge to his sons who, as a team, poured their hearts and souls into this unique property.  Indeed, Casa de Estrellas was created by a team of accomplished artisans who took deep pride in their craftsmanship.
